TCT blades have carbide teeth, HSS blades are made of high-speed steel, solid carbide blades are made entirely of carbide, and segmental blades carry riveted HSS segments on a blade body. TCT is typical for aluminium, copper, brass, plastics and wood, HSS for steel, tubes and profiles.
We manufacture all four types and sharpen circular saw blades up to Ø 1,600 mm depending on type – segmental blades from Ø 250 mm, solid carbide blades up to Ø 300 mm (below Ø 80 mm on request).
The blade types
| TCT (carbide-tipped) | Carbide teeth on a steel blade body. For aluminium, copper, brass, plastics and wood. |
|---|---|
| HSS / HSS-E | High-speed steel (DMo5) or with cobalt (Co5). For steel, tubes, profiles and solid material. |
| Solid carbide | The entire blade is made of carbide: low burr, long-lasting, significantly higher cutting speeds than HSS. Performs at its best on a rigid, low-vibration machine. |
| Segmental circular saw blade | CrV steel blade body with riveted HSS segments. Damaged segments can be replaced, individual ones too – the blade body is reused. |
What this means for sharpening
We sharpen every type of blade with the right grinding wheel.
New blades
We manufacture TCT blades (Ø 80–1,300 mm), solid carbide blades (Ø 15–300 mm) and HSS metal circular saw blades to DIN 1837, 1838 and 1840. Products
