Broken teeth on a circular saw blade: what to do?

If a tooth breaks, it is best to take the blade out of the machine straight away and have it inspected. In many cases it can be reconditioned; if that is no longer worthwhile, a new blade is the better choice.

Before any processing, we inspect the blade and tell you whether reconditioning is worthwhile for your blade.

Repair

If teeth are broken or heavily worn, we recondition your blades – carbide-tipped blades by re-tipping, HSS blades by re-toothing.

On segmental circular saw blades, we replace damaged segments, individual ones too – the blade body is reused. Segmental blades

When a new blade is better

If the blade body is damaged or too little substance is left, we advise you on a suitable new blade from our own production. Sharpen or buy new?

What you can do

On request, we examine damage, dulling and cutting-edge geometries and propose a suitable solution. Packing and shipping

  • Take the blade out of the machine and stop using it
  • Cover the teeth for transport and pack the blade individually
  • If possible, make a short note of the material and the situation in which the damage occurred – this helps us find the cause
