How many times a circular saw blade can be resharpened depends on the blade – on the manufacturer, design and condition. Blades are designed differently – some for frequent resharpening, others less so.
The grinding method also plays a role: grinding only the tooth face removes more material for the same sharpness.
How we grind

As a rule, we grind both the tooth face and the tooth top (periphery). This way we remove only as much material as necessary – which protects your blade.
We inspect every blade before processing and tell you whether a resharpening is still worthwhile.
What affects the number of resharpenings
- Design and tooth height of the blade (manufacturer)
- Condition when sharpened: the blunter, the more material removed
- Broken teeth or wear that we recondition beforehand
- Grinding method: tooth face only or periphery too
When a resharpening is no longer worthwhile
If too little substance is left or the blade body is damaged, we will contact you beforehand and advise you on a suitable new blade from our own production. Sharpen or buy new?
